Maintenance Fee*   What is It? The monthly maintenance fee of $4.00 is determined by the overall savings and loan balances that you maintain with the credit union.  Overall savings encompasses funds on deposit in the Share Savings, Share Draft (Checking), Club Magic, Money Market, IRA, and Certificates of Deposit. The TOTAL balance of these savings is subject to the maintenance fee if it is below $500.00 and total loans are less than $3,000.00. Why is it assessed?  Communicating Arts Credit Union offers competitive savings and loan rates as well as a wide variety of services. Miscellaneous fees and charges are necessary to offset increasing operational costs.  Maintenance fees are designed to encourage the support of the credit union with your savings and financing needs.    How can it be avoided? The simplest way to avoid this fee is by maintaining the TOTAL balance in your overall savings (Share Savings, Share Draft (Checking), Club Magic, Money Market, IRA, and Certificates of Deposit) of $500.00 or more. Also, one of the benefits of opening a Direct Star checking account is that the $4.00 monthly maintenance fee is waived.  NOTE:  New members have a three-month grace period to build savings up to the $500.00 balance before being assessed the fee. **SENIOR CITIZENS and MINORS are exempt from monthly maintenance fees. You must notify the credit union if you are in one of these categories so that we can make note on your account.

Transaction Fees* Transaction fees will be charged when you do business at an outside source, which includes 24-hour teller machines and all Service Center locations.  You receive six FREE transactions per month at Co-op Network ATMs.  All subsequent transactions are $1.50 per transaction. Transaction fees can be avoided by using the Main Office either through the mail, in person or by using Tel-A-Phone Teller.
